An often neglected social media platform is YouTube. While most companies have an active presence on Facebook and Twitter, the popular video-sharing site is often neglected. However, like the other social media platforms, there’s a ton of potential if you are successful in establishing your business on YouTube. After all, people just love to consume videos after videos.
To help you maximize YouTube, you can follow these tips:
Customize your profile
Like your FaceBook and Twitter profiles, you want your YouTube account to also represent who you are as a company. YouTube has a lot of customization options that you can use to show off your brand and company image.
Include all important details
Make sure that your YouTube account is not only pretty but it should also contain important information that potential customers need to patronize your company. Include your Company name, address, and telephone number. Not only does it help your viewers, it also builds credibility because having your address and phone number assuages concerns about your company’s legitimacy.
Use the description area
The description part lets you write a short description about the video you are sharing. You can maximize this by researching keywords that are related to both the video and your products or services. This will help the video be more searchable in different search engines like Yahoo, Bing, and of course, Google.
Include a link to a page in your website
Include a link going to your website after the description. This will give viewers a quick way to shift from YouTube to your website. Do not, however, just always point the link towards your home page. You want to use internal pages of your website that are relevant to the video you are sharing. A link from YouTube can also help that specific page rank better in different search engines.
Feature relevant and entertaining videos
Do not create a video just for the sake of creating a video. You want your videos to contain relevant information that can be useful, or at least entertaining to your viewers. Old school YouTube marketers used to create boring video slides that are just made just for the sake of being able to upload a video and add a link to the description. That would not fly in today’s web marketing. The video should be of good quality and not just another video that nobody will watch.
